Your CV is your 1st sale!

ALPHEA Conseil pledges à that each of its consultants will take the time to integrally readéall resumes reçus, and this, without going through one of those computer tools whereù ruthless software programséés sift out candidates based on their experience, which doesnét correspond to the criteria recordedéin computer science, whereas sometimes a closer look is all that's needed....so as not to miss à côté the right candidate.

On average, a recruiter in a firm receives ç80 CVs a day, which means à barely a few minutes to go through the contents ....you'd better put all the chances on your sideôté.... Here are a few golden rules à to follow:

A small but important reminder : CVs must never êbe handwritten..... or photocopiedé. It must be êprésenté veryèon, clear, legible, without frills, without too many colors or eccentricitiesés, with a readable font and on a single page. This allows the recruiter to see your abilityé to synthèse and not get lost in the méandres of your professional, even privateé life for some....

In fact, for more than a third of recruiters, a CV that is too difficult à to read is rédhibitory.

Give it a title other than the classic « Curriculum Vitae » ; an en -tête corresponding to the position soughté in adéquation with the advertisement....

Experiences à énumérer   must êbe in chronological order, titling the headings and aéranting: "Your CV is your business’à you need to enhance it to make us want to meet you » says Ludovic D'HOOGHE, Director of Alphéa Conseil. Please describe the positions youéve held, the companies youéve worked for (sectors, number of employees, sales...), the skills youéve applied (sales growth, number of people youéve managed) and the missions youéve accomplished.

A éviter : "gaps" or too-short expériences that aren't always veryèuseful.... In fact, you should not hesitate to à éliminate all experiences of less than a year and internships or seasonal jobs that have no connection with the position you are looking foré. « The last fifteen yearsèare essential to have a good overview’overall » cise Mr D’HOOGHE.

Try to distinguish yourself from other candidates with similar experience...Those little extras  could make the differenceérence.... especially by category « leisure »...

Review the ad and impresséyourself. Emphasize the skills required for the position. The most important thing is not to raise any doubts or questions with the recruiter, but to make them want to continue.....

Another essential point : ORTHOGRAPHICAL MISTAKES !!!!! For 80  % of recruiters, this is a veryèbad point.....So take the time to proofread yourself and have your CV à read by those close to you...

Don't forget the photo either...YES, it's préférable to put one and a photo of yourself éventually done by a professional with proper attire. Shaveé and coiffé for men and ladies, sometimes a visit to the hairdresser, or even a make-up artist can êbe a real plus....while remaining natural.

Last but not least, please be careful with à your slightly outlandish e-mail addresses from your student eveningsééétudiants....snot forgetting the messages, registeredéor not, on your répondeurs....because for some, they can scare off  more than one !!!!!
