Unemployment: the number of jobseekers fell.

According to the latest statistics publishedées on February 24th by the Pôle Emploi and the Direction de l’Animation de la Recherche (DARES) (available on www.travail-solidarite.gouv.fr), the number of demandeurs d’emploi inscrits en catégories A (actes positifs de recherche d’emploi, sans aucune activitéé) decreasedé by 19 300 during January, i.e. a drop of à 0.7%.

The number of unemployed (of mêth category) also felléby 1.5%, confirmedéby an annual trend of 6.2% in 1 year...

However, even though jobseekers aged over 50 decreasedé by 1.2% in January, it saw a 13.4% increase over 1 year...

Job offers collectedéby the Pôle d’Emploi were up 9.8% in January, résulting from an increase in offers of lasting employment.
