Thibault Delfraissy is optimistic about the job market in 2021. Alphéa Conseil's expansion in the Grand-Est region is a case in point.

Thibault Delfraissy joined Alphéa Conseil at the end of 2018, following a career spanning more than 10 years in strategic positions in sports goods retailing. "After a while, I wanted a change of scene and to give new meaning to my professional project.

Being always well supported when I was Store Manager with great teams around me, I wanted to help managers experience the same thing as me in the fulfillment it brought me on a daily basis.

At random I came across an advertisement to open recruitment agencies in the Grand Est with Alphéa Conseil, I met Ludovic D'Hooghe and for almost 3 years now, I've been helping several companies structure their teams and the managerial support this requires."

Today, the Strasbourg branch has 6 employees and Thibault Delfraissy plans to open another branch in Colmar in October, with 2 new employees, as well as, shortly, a branch in Nancy. "We're expanding rapidly, and while we're recruiting for our customers, we're also looking for employees." Calling all enthusiasts!

A booming job market

While employment fell as a result of the 2020 health crisis, this only lasted as long as a 2-month confinement for Strasbourg's Alphéa Conseil agency. Thibault Delfraissy displays his optimism: "In the Grand-Est region, which stretches from Strasbourg to Besançon via Nancy, the recruitment rate should increase by 4% this year." Thus, nearly one in four establishments plans to recruit in the region, in 2021.

Aside from a few struggling sectors such as the automotive industry, aeronautics or tourism, all branches are looking to hire. Indeed, companies are facing a shortage of applicants: "The training of young people doesn't always correspond to the needs in the field", explains the regional manager.

Among the most recurrent profiles recruited by the agency are opticians, all-round department managers, food and beverage professionals, landscapers and many building (plumber, electrician, tiler...).

To stand out from its competitors, the agency relies on proximity. "We know our area well because we're on the spot," comments the regional manager. What's more, when we're recruiting, we always request a meeting with the manager to define together his or her needs and the profile of the position to be filled."

Thibault Delfraissy highlights other assets such as the importance of customer satisfactionand reactivity: "Today, faced with high demand, we continue to guarantee the quality of services offered to each of our customers. We're responsive, and to respond just as quickly, we're growing and recruiting new staff."

From recruitment to consulting

Today's new generations of candidates have different requirements of their future employer. Millennials prioritize well-being at work above all else, and attach importance to corporate values. To ensure effective recruitment, Thibault Delfraissy adapts his approach: "The motivational levers are different. So I alsohave an advisory role with managers. I work with some on the importance of communicating about the company's project and employer brand, so that candidates can better identify with it."
