How to optimize your LinkedIn profile?
LinkedIn: it's the networking platform for getting yourself professionally known. At the same time, it's the perfect place to discover companies, apply for jobs, get information, communicate...
As this is asocial network, a few codes need to be respected, and that we don't learn at school!
Here are a few tips for an effective profile!
Update your profile
Be clear, simple and effective on your profile!
Carefully fill in the practical elements such as your identity, your professional experience, your assignments, the work you've done, your skills... Fill in every possible box. An up-to-date profile makes you more easily identifiable to recruiters.
Add a photo of yourself, preferably from the front, smiling and fairly natural. Avoid family or wedding photos... Inappropriate on LinkedIn (as on your CV, for that matter).
To land your future job, you need to make people want you! So don't hesitate to ask for recommendations from your former employers.
Make a good impression: on Linkedin as in life, it can make all the difference.
Get informed and interact with current events
Stay up-to-date by subscribing to #s relevant to you. For example, #recruitment, #distribution, #retail, #commerce... Subscribe to thecompany pages of those you find most appealing. This way, you can do your own monitoring and keep up to date with company news.
Follow people who are influential on the network based on your sector of activity. This will enable you to discover new trends, learn about a particular subject...
The next step is to show interest in your network and value their work. How do you do this? By commenting, sharing and liking their posts that you find relevant and interesting!
This will give you a head start when it comes to your recruitment!
Grow your network
It is wise to follow your current knowledge, that of "real life" (friends, colleagues, future employers, customers, former colleagues...) but not only.
To learn, discover and expand your network (and thus open up the fields of possibility) also allow yourself to follow the CEOs, or HRDs of companies in your geographical area and that you're targeting.
Be proactive, daring and subtle. You're interested in a job and you're in touch with the HR department? Contact her directly!
Recruiters will also be able to discover you through your actions on LinkedIn, and not just when you respond to an ad.
Before putting a post on LinkedIn, ask yourself the right questions.
Is it useful and relevant to your world, your target, your contacts? If not, don't.
Check that your target (company or recruiter) is in your network and post smart. You can afford to create offbeat content on LinkedIn, but not completely irrelevant to theinterests of the companies you're targeting.

As you can see, using LinkedIn is a great idea. But to get the most out of it, you absolutely must optimize your profile if you hope to attract a recruiter's attention.
