Employment of older workers: SMEs have three months more to reach an agreement
Xavier Darcos indicatedé yesterday in « Le Parisien » that he would give an additional three monthsélai to SMEs with 50 à 300 employeesés, which are not covered by a branch agreement, to conclude an agreement or finish an action plan in favor of the employment of seniors. « Today, 70 professional branches (12 million employeesés) have concluded an interprofessional agreement », reportedé the Minister of Labor. From January 1, companies with fewer than 50 employeeséêmust be covered by a three-year agreement or action plan to promote the employment of older workers. Once they have done so, they will be liable for a pénalité égale à 1 % of their payroll.
