Choose your Sale period!

 

La loi de modernisation de l économie (loi n° 2008-776 du 4 août 2008) a modifié la règlementation des soldes et a introduit la possibilité pour les commerçants d'organiser des périodes complémentaires.

Article L. 310-3 of the French Commercial Code defines sales as sales which, on the one hand, are accompanied or preceded by advertising and announced as tending, through a price reduction, to éprice reduction, éthe éacceleratedéflowéof goods in stock and which, on the other hand, take place during clearly finite periods:
- two periods of 5 weeks each, the dates of which are fixed by decree;
- one additional period of up to two weeks, or two additional periods of up to one week, the dates of which are freely chosen by the trader. Complementary periods must ébe déclarée one month before they begin and end no later than one month before the end of the sales

.

 

The products on saleés must have été been offeredés à for sale and paidé for at least 1 month prior to the dégoal of the sales.

The Direction générale de la concurrence, de la consommation et de la répression des fraudes (DGCCRF) has dévelopedé a computer application enabling the déclaration of complementary sale périodes by électronic means. This application went été online on February 6, 2009.
