Belgium's economy is booming. Rich in a diversified economy, Belgium is experiencing full-growth, particularly in the industrial, engineering, agrifood, information and communication technology (ICT), financial services, trade and transport sectors.
Result: the job market is booming. Despite the energy crisis and galloping inflation, we're recording over 100,000 new jobs in 2022, and a forecast of over 200,000 jobs in 2023. A record. With a unemployment rate down this early in the year and a strong increase in hiring, the job market has regained its dynamism.

The relationship to work has changed
These movements also reveal a deep changein the world of work. After the covid confinements, mentalities have changed. Workers no longer have the same expectations. They want to move, but not for just any job. And not at any price. Young and old alike need to find meaning in their work. It's no longer a question of wasting time and energy in 100% face-to-face work, which involves too much travel. The presenteeism has become obsolete and the office at work is no longer the only place to fulfill oneself. Workers are also looking to find the right balance between work life and private life.
Some sectors are therefore in short supply. It can take up to six months for a company to recruit a suitable candidate. And recruiters are scrambling to fill vacancies. Recruitment has become a seduction operation to attract talent. This requires professional expertise and supportl.
IT, a sector that provides jobs
Not all sectors are on the same footing. In industry (chemicals, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing), job creations have returned to pre-vid levels. And 77.4% of job vacancies are in the non-market sectors, science and services, industry, trade and construction. So there are jobs to be had in human resources, healthcare, finance and accounting professions.
