9 good reasons why women should run companies
Hang on tight, here are the 9 good reasons why women should run companies. Gone are the clichés about women from the 1930s: "Women aren't really fit to run a company, women are soft, women are delicate, women are fragile". You can't stand hearing such nonsense either, can you?
At Alphéa Conseil, we understand you, and the recent thank you from Isabelle Kocher (Engie management) prompts us to speak up. Truth be told, we think women should runthe World, or at least companies.... Our explanations in 9 blatantly good reasons.
The woman entrepreneur is powerful
If you still had it in your head that a woman entrepreneur would be less effective or less formidable than a man, you're mistaken. Because right now, the woman company director is awfully powerful.
The ability to multitask
.The ability to multitask (whether intellectually or in action) is no longer in question. The female brain has this invaluable ability - even more so than the male - to manage several pieces of information at the same time. According to a study by researchers at Zurich'sBalgrist Hospital, it's been proven!
Business acumen
The female CEO, MD, business leader, entrepreneur, businesswoman in the broadest sense also has a business acumen. Her secret weapon lies in a different approach to her male counterparts, with a more global and fine-tuned vision of impalpable things.
An unfailing rigor
Moreover, rigor and organization are present in every woman's life, every day. With or without children, as a couple or single, the Woman is a particularly effective manager.
The talent to manage differently
As for management, when it's practiced by a Woman brings even better results than the average for men. In fact, according to the International Labour Organization's study, when a company managed to promote mixity within management positions, profits increased by 5 to 10%. According to the same study, women in particular would take more measured risks than men, and above all they would be better at retaining talented employees.
Women are not inferior to men
Despite certain appearances or hard-lived backward prejudices, femininity does not rhyme with inferiority. In fact, when it comes to thelower salaries received by most women, the law changes as of March 1, 2020. From now on, it will be mandatory for companies with more than 50 employees to publish an index measuring the gap in pay between men and women. Moreover, we have already taken the lead in advising companies on the wage mix of their workforce.
Outstanding strength
Perseverance, pugnacity, resistance : all qualities naturally put forward by women in CEO or director roles. Like Indra Nooyi president at Pepsico or Linda Jackson, CEO at Citroën: powerful female profiles, who have positioned themselves as unquestionable leaders.
A formidable efficiency
Finally, keep in mind that a woman can run a business and still be feminine. Whether it's an iron fist in a velvet glove, or assertive authority: the female entrepreneur is redoubtablely effective.
An immense capacity for work
That's why women, just like men, belong in these leadership roles. A sharpened sense of work, an (unconscious) need to prove their skills more, by delivering a Titan's work... So many criteria that prove women should lead companies.
So, ladies, if you want to position yourself as a business leader: doubt no more. You'll make a formidable businesswoman, invested and efficient. And you gentlemen, open the doors of your management positions to women: your company will come out a big winner!
