Given the amount of time we spend at work, occupying a position in which we thrive and that matches our personality and values is part of our balance. How do we know if we've found the right job? What are the clues that there's something wrong with your job?

Here are 6 signs that suggest it may be time to change jobs:

Boredom

The famous ball in the stomach

Conflicting relationships

You are close to burn-out

Repeated lateness and absences

Lack of meaning

Boredom

Do you tend to take more breaks or make them longer to put off getting back to your desk? Do you stare at the clock at the end of the day, impatiently waiting for the moment when you can leave? These are undoubtedly signs that you're bored at work. There are various reasons for this: either the assignments you're given aren't exciting, or you've had enough of your job.

The famous belly ball

Sunday night anxieties at the thought of returning to work on Monday morning are relatively common, as is having a ball in the stomach at the thought of returning to work after a long vacation. If it happens more frequently and prevents you from falling asleep, it's a sign that it's time to take action, or even change jobs.

The same applies if you're counting the days left to "make it" before the weekend or your vacations. It's a human reflex, but if it happens to you every day, there's a clear problem with your work.

Conflicting relationships

You no longer make any effort to maintain cordial relations with colleagues who usually annoy you. Worse still, you can't stand your boss and are in chronic disagreement with him. What's more, he doesn't give you the recognition you deserve and refuses to give you a raise. If you're experiencing increasingly frequent conflicts with your manager or colleagues, it may be time to look elsewhere.

You're close to burn-out

Your N+1 puts pressure on you or asks you to work overtime all year round. You're constantly overworked and can't see the end of the road. What's more, the promised help isn't forthcoming. Conclusion: you're exhausted and on the verge of collapse. It's time to stop! Take the opportunity to rest and think about the future of your job. If it's hopeless, tell yourself that no one is irreplaceable and give yourself another chance elsewhere.

Repeated lateness and absences

You're dragging your feet or going backwards to work, arriving late on a regular basis when you're not used to it. Backache, migraine, stomach ache... you sometimes suffer from somatization, and the slightest cold is a good excuse to ask for time off work. Your motivation is certainly in free fall! This may be a temporary period, but stay vigilant.

Lack of meaning

You're not fulfilled
in what you're doing, because it doesn't match who you are or what you want to do. You don't feel useful and you're faced with a lack of meaning. Your lack of drive is perfectly normal, since the meaning given to work is one of the main motivations for employees.

In addition, you may not agree with the company's values. You realize, for example, that performance is the priority, to the detriment of the quality you stand for, the sense of service you hold dear.

Sometimes, all it takes is a change of company for things to get better. If not, don't hesitate to retrain in something you enjoy. Your well-being is at stake, and it's priceless.
